Aquatic managers
AlgaeID was developed to assist aquatic managers, including aquaculture farmers, backyard pond owners, and property managers, in accurately identifying algal groups. With AlgaeID, aquatic managers can create treatment plans based on both the identified algal bloom type and water quality and algae data measurements.
Machine-learning model
Utilizing an image recognition machine-learning model, AlgaeID allows for the identification of algal blooms at a site, even when access to microscopes are unavailable. In this way, AlgaeID helps aquatic managers effectively address existing algae and protect the health and stability of their water systems.
